Gaia-facts reaching ground control
The European Space Agency (ESA) has released the first data from the Gaia mission, which has the tremendous task of building the most precise 3D map of the Milky Way.
In January 2010 CMR company Prototech delivered simualtion units for The Gaia Emission. Now six years later there are results to be shown from the expedition in space. This first data showcases the capabilities of the instrument. The probe is so precise that it can gauge the size of a coin on the Moon. It can see objects 500,000 times fainter than the human eye, and it will observe every star about 70 times.
