RockStore got 10,5 MNOK from The Research Council
The RockStore Project got this support in tough competition. The goal is to develop smart solutions for storage of energy in the underground. This project is lead by Christian Michelsen Research and brings on partners from both industry, research and public partners as NVE, ENOVA and Norwegian municipalities. There are also international partners in the project.

The ENERGIX Programme awarded half a billion NOK to new projects for environmentally friendly energy. Our project got 10,5 from this money. The RockStore Project is in the category KPN, this means projects for building industry relevant competence in academia. Industry actors will also fund 20 % of the total cost of these projects.
The RockStore project aims at investigating the potential for Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) to be integrated in an energy system. The increasing emphasis on decarbonizing the energy system has drawn awareness to the energy storage technologies as tools for efficient use of energy resources and balancing energy production and demand.
