RED BULL RAGNAROK
CMR are testing our knowledge in windmeasurements and our lidar instruments in a kite competition on the plains of the Hardangervidda. Follow the lidar measurements here on our webpages. Our people and our lidars are out there in the wilderness taking the data down.

Two synchronized continuous wave scanning lidars are used to study the coherence of the along-wind and across-wind velocity components. The goal is to evaluate the potential of the lidar technology for application in wind engineering. The wind lidars were installed on the Lysefjord Bridge during four days in May 2014 to monitor the wind field in the horizontal plane upstream of the bridge deck.

Wind Coherence Measurement by a Single Pulsed Doppler Wind Lidar
Etienne Cheynet; Svardal, Benny; Jasna Bogunović Jakobsen, Joachim Reuder, Valerie Kumer
A single pulsed Doppler wind lidar, deployed at the FINO1 platform in the North Sea, has been used to monitor the lateral and vertical coherence of the along-wind component. To maximize the sampling frequency of the monitoring system, a particular configuration based on small sweeping angles around the mean wind direction is used.
